Most of the people are freaking out during COVID-19 pandemic. Constant headlines with updated number of corona virus cases and horrifying photos shared on various social media are stressing us all out. Although the current situation with COVID-19 is serious, and just because we’re being called out to our couches right now, doesn’t means that time needs to be wasted. In my opinion the biggest advantage of being home during quarantine is finally being free and at peace! Also, observing social distancing is a good way to protect yourself and others from the corona virus. Meanwhile we can definitely use our free time being productive
If you’re working from home, the first thing to do is to make sure you’ve done all your assignments first. And then when you find yourself with some free time, here are some productive things you can do while confined in quarantine.
- Learn a new skill:
I feel like this is the perfect time for learning something new and to become an expert at something! Today new skills are required constantly, so take online courses. Learn your favorite skills and practice them. There are lots of ways to teach yourself with blogs, apps and online courses at your fingertips. Keep learning!
- Meditate and Exercise:
Meditation and exercise provide so many health benefits. During such a pandemic, it’s best to invest in your health. The stronger immune system, the safer you are! Find yourself some apps or videos from internet for the guided self-care exercises. Stay Strong and Healthy!
- Read and Write More:
If you are a reader or a writer, catch up on your hobbies. We always seem to be complaining that we do not have enough time to read. But don’t you think now is the best time to grab a pack of snacks and complete your pending book? Or finishing a pending blog post? We don’t get time for these on a daily basis and it’s a great time to dedicate your energy back on these creative outlets.
- Cook and Clean:
Social distancing means you have more time at home. It’s too easy to let the hours fly by with doing something productive. If you’re tired of scrolling your social media, watching Netflix and looking for something to pass your time, then it’s probably the right time to cook something delicious and clean your home. Your goal during this time is to make your home enjoyable, not a place you are desperate to escape. Cook but don’t waste!
- Update your Resume:
During quarantine there is plenty of time for you to update your resume and portfolio, so the next time you see a job listing that inspires you; you can be the first to apply. Update your resume, freshen up your LinkedIn profile, reach out to top recruiters in your space and practice your interviewing techniques. Interact on social media to build your brand and get noticed.
It’s for sure a difficult phase. Staying at home for extended periods of time can be a challenge. So wash your hands, regularly wipe down the things you touch frequently, and try to use the time to accomplish something productive Our Lives and our world will improve if we carry this patience and love with us long after borders reopen and quarantine ends.
